Grand Tetons & Yellowstone
We got a good start in Jackson, Wy. Harry was out late and up early to get these shots. Actually got to 200 ft away from the moose grazing in the creek. There were lots of animals; bison, elk, beaver, pronghorn, and a very close encounter with a black bear. He was actually grazing on berries beside the road and paid us no attention. He was 10 ft away. Lots of storms keep rumbling through and we've gotten nice landscape shots.
We got wonderful shots in Yellowstone at Mammoth Springs and the Old Faithful area, lots of geysers. When needed we had lots of sun which was great for photos of the pools, like the Grand Prismatic and Morning Glory.
Our last stop of the trip was in Cody, Wy. A severe winter snow storm warning had been issued for the NW corner of Yellowstone. The snow storm did not stop us. We drove carefully from Cody to Cooke City with no problem. It's snowed the last night in the high mountains so we caught a smig of winter.
Great scenery up here in the mountains.
